Relo Lite helps to springboard careers

Niamh Winters is one of 20 employees in Ireland who has taken advantage of the new Relo Lite programme launched in February 2022.  Hear how Niamh used the programme to springboard her career.

"I was one of the first employees in Ireland to make use of the Relo-Lite assistance which was incredibly helpful in moving down the country"

I started my career with Enterprise on the Management Training Programme in Letterkenny in July 2020. From the moment I started the job, I absolutely loved the fact that every day was different. I loved the intensity of working in such a fast-paced environment.

I completed the management training within 10 months and was promoted to Assistant Manager in the Dublin City Centre branch the following month.

I was one of the first employees in Ireland to make use of the Relo-Lite assistance which was incredibly helpful in moving down the country.

Relo-Lite meant that I was appointed a consultant who helped me with all aspects of my move, including the relocation bonus, temporary hotel accommodation, moving expenses and finding a new home. This was a great help and really eased the pressure of moving across the country. It would definitely encourage me to relocate again without hesitation.

At the time, the branch was the biggest home-city branch in our region so I was extremely proud to have got the promotion after such a short period of time with the company.

During my year as an Assistant Manager, one of our biggest achievements was finishing the fiscal year as the most improved branch in terms of operating profit during the year.

This was a huge accomplishment and one I was very proud of, especially as we were just coming out of the restrictions of COVID.

"I would advise anyone wanting to progress their career to make the jump and relocate"

I would advise anyone wanting to progress their career to make the jump and relocate.

It was a huge change going from a mid-size rural branch to a busy city location. I thrived on the challenges that arose from such a hectic environment.

After a very enjoyable year as an Assistant Manager in Dublin, I made the move back to Letterkenny as a Branch Manager at Donegal Airport, again helped by the Relo-Lite programme. This proved once again to be a great help in the relocation process.

The help and advice of my consultant made the move as hassle-free as possible and allowed me to hit the ground running on my return: I succeeded in guiding three of my employees to achieve Assistant Manager promotions within my first four months in the role.

My main aim as a Branch Manager was to grow my business alongside improving the customer service in the branch.

I am very lucky to have an incredibly hard-working team in Letterkenny who thoroughly enjoy meeting their customers and having fun.

We truly believe that 'customer service is our way of life' and this is reflected in our recent very high customer service scores of which we are all immensely proud.

I feel privileged to have worked closely with some of the best female leaders in the company so far in my career and look forward to following in their footsteps when completing the 'Women in Rental' leadership programme later this year.

This programme consists of six sessions designed to coach female managers in developing their different leadership skills to achieve personal and professional goals.

It's very encouraging to see two of the past participants are leading the way and have already been promoted to Area Manager in the past few months, something I aim to achieve myself in the foreseeable future.

It has been challenging at times and no two days are ever the same. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Enterprise so far and look forward to seeing what the future holds with my career in Enterprise.
