Creating new opportunities for women to flourish

ARMS® Claims Services (ACS) is the largest division in the ARMS® Business Solutions (ABS) group. ABS was established in May 2016 to oversee all of the claims handling operations and software.

First established in Aldershot in 2009 as part of Enterprise Business Support, ACS has now evolved into a separate group to manage the non-fault claims process from first contact to vehicle hire, financial recovery and litigation. The division has a strong history of female managers, which currently includes three level III employees who were each promoted within months of each other, showing how the growth of Enterprise has created new opportunities for women

Currently on maternity leave, Kate Law is Head of Claims at ACS and has worked at Enterprise for 17 years.

“I began my career in U3 and after six months I went to work with Diane Mulholland in the UK’s first non-fault claims department. While Diane went back into rental, I stayed in nonfault as the manager in U3 and then in U1 before moving to Aldershot and I have not looked back. The creation of ACS in 2016 and its focus on key strategic plans improve our business has created even greater opportunity for growth. It is a fantastic career opportunity.”

Lauren Davies is Recoveries Manager and has worked in non-fault for 10 years.

“After 18 months in rental I became a claims handler in U1. I loved the work and soon became a senior claims handler before relocating to Aldershot as a supervisor. The speed of growth was phenomenal. Within six months we were 20 people, within a year we were 40, and we’ve been growing ever since. By 2016 I was looking to a level III role. I considered account management in EU99 but then became involved in the planning for the new ACS, and really bought into the strategies. The potential seemed amazing. In 2017 when the opportunity arose for a level III recoveries manager, I applied and got the job.”

Jordan Hill is in charge of Claims Support and Hire Monitoring and her team manages all hires for non-fault customers.

“A friend of mine recommended I work at Enterprise to help fund a nursing course. I really loved it and stayed for six years. It took two applications to get my first position in nonfault and three months later I was successful in applying for a manager’s job. I cross-trained by working across different teams and I’m now the Claims Manager. I’m a prime example of just how much opportunity there is at Enterprise if you are proactive and go for it.”

“I leapt at the opportunity to relocate from U8 to work at ABS,” said Lynne Mounsey, HR Manager. “So many aspects of the business are new. We’re rethinking training, reward, recognition, working patterns, career paths and development. Along with an apprenticeship programme, we are currently building a claims training programme like the MT programme to help claims professionals construct their own career and create a truly great place to work.

The division has a strong history of female managers, which currently includes three level III employees who were each promoted within months of each other.
