Networking helps Enterprise's South West Group Embrace Equity for International Women's Day 2023

As part of International Women’s Day 2023, Enterprise’s Southwest Group hosted a networking event for employees and customers to share ideas on how we can #EmbraceEquity.

Laura Harrison, Sales Manager, Kate Wigglesworth, Generalist HR Manager and Sandra White, Account Manager came together to discuss what their group could do differently this year for International Women’s Day.

They decided to create a network and community that combined Enterprise employees and our business partners collaborating to create change, called the ‘Women’s Enterprise. The first two networking events were hosted in March around IWD.

“They wanted all females to openly discuss some of the challenges that they face in the workplace”

They wanted all females to openly discuss some of the challenges that they face in the workplace as a female and learn from each other on how to overcome by inviting external partners to the event.

Enterprise employees were invited from a variety of departments including Rental, Admin, Flex-E-Rent and Corporate Head Office and each female was asked to invite a business partner. The events hosted over 120 people over two days.

Speed networking in the morning and afternoon tea allowed everyone to get to know each other. The afternoon session saw round table discussions on various topics including understanding and creating opportunities, equality vs. equity, the importance of advocates (our male leaders led this section), and the habits that help us and the ones that hold us back.

This created open conversations where tables shared best practices and learnt from each other.

“Getting together in the room created such a buzz and everyone enjoyed being back together face to face”

Getting together in the room created such a buzz and everyone enjoyed being back together face to face for International Women’s Day events. The feedback has been brilliant so far and the team are excited to see what happens next with the ‘Women’s Enterprise’ network.

Hosting events with external partners has been a great way of strengthening relationships, sharing ideas and opening the door for everyone to have an inclusive conversation to better ourselves and learn more about #EmbraceEquity.
