Introducing the new enterprising women board

Based at EU99, the Enterprising Women board works to support future female leaders and grow the Enterprising Women Network through various initiatives, events and programs.

The mission of the Enterprising Women Board is to develop a network to inspire all genders to support, develop and empower current and future female leaders within our business. In addition it is to act as a conduit for promoting diversity and inclusion amongst all the people and organisations that interacts with Enterprise every day, our supply chain, business partners and customers, not just employees.

New Chair Amanda Houssein joined Enterprise as a management trainee in 2007, and held various positions within the company and now heads up our European Implementation Team. New Co-chair Hannah Harwood joined Enterprise as a management trainee in 2006 and moved through the ranks to her current role as Implementation Manager for UK and Ireland. They were both already active members of the Enterprising Women board before being elected to their new positions.

In addition Enterprising Women is excited to announce the restructure of the new board:

New Members: Ruchira Kale, Maheswari Ramasamy, Katie Thompson, Ceri Miles

Existing Members: Victoria Brignall, Sara Varo, Tharmini Umaselvan

The board’s recent successes include:

#InPursuit2017 – An external networking event in central London to champion diversity issues and work with over 100 of our business partners and customers on how to build balanced businesses.

International Women’s Day Panel Event – inspirational sessions open to all EU99 employees.

Mentoring Program – providing an opportunity for all EU99 employees to access a mentoring relationship and tools to maximise the benefits of this.

Award Nominations – Working with HR to ensure that successful females in our business are celebrated.

Ed Spitzer, European VP Remarketing, is a strong advocate for Enterprising Women: “This impactful committee provides like-minded women the opportunity to develop their abilities by engaging with senior management on projects.”

The new board is looking forward to the next year with some new initiatives starting soon:

  • Internal workshops; Implicit bias training, female skillset focused, inclusive leadership, mentoring development
  • International Women’s Day 2018 internal event
  • University outreach program
  • Department diversity strategy
  • Continuing with Mentoring Programme throughout 2018

If you see yourself, your partner or your daughter as a future female leader, then contact the Board EnterprisingWomen@ehi.com for more information or to get involved.

I am delighted to welcome Amanda Houssein as the new chair and Hannah Harwood as co-chair of the board, and look forward to continuing to support their work actively from the side lines in future.
