Raj with Arjan
17.45 My journey home – Arjan tells me how good he has been at school (teachers sometimes differ); while dinner is cooking I get Arjan bathed and into his PJs; dinner watching one of his favourites or go through homework.
18.50 Tucked in bed for story time.
19.15 Fast asleep (not me, Arjan). Once he’s asleep I wash the dishes, put clothes in the dryer washed earlier (thanks to washing machines with a timer), iron, get his uniform ready, pay bills, clear out emails. I would never have thought that having a child and working would be possible. After four years I can say it is very much possible. My team has never made me feel like having a child means I can’t do the role. Arjan understands that mummy works in order for him to have all the best things in life.
